| Favorite Curling Moment: |
Curling in the Neepawa arena in my first arena setting, playing in the 2000-2001 Scotties Manitoba provincials. I'm fairly new to the skipping scene, especially in Women's, at 24 years old and I'm In trouble against Janet Harvey. The arena is packed (about 1,500 fans) and I throw and make a triple takeout. The crowd goes wild, fans jump to their feet, clapping and whooping for the shot made. I can still hear them. |
| Favorite Female Curler: |
Tied: Sandra Schmirler and Elizabet Gustafson - amount of success their teams accomplished and their personalities/demeanors through their accomplishments. They were still "normal" people, with normal jobs, and treated their teammates with the utmost respect. They were great "for the people" curlers and it was AMAZING to compete against them - world class all the time, every time. |
| Favorite Male Curler: |
Mark Kennedy. Amazing shooter, I'd say one of the best shot makers in the world. Ridiculously strong sweeper. Watching him at different events and hearing others talk about him, I think he has the whole package. He is a great supporter of his teammates and has such a positive, fun demeanor, who wouldn't think he's awesome?! |
